According to the Bible, the first Lilith was actually Adam’s first wife. She was created from the earth in the same manner as Adam. As such, she did not believe that he should be superior over her. She believed herself to be his equal, when he and God disagreed; she fled the Garden of Eden and found refuge in the desert where she became a queen and mother of demons.
The name Lilith (Lilitu) is found in many ancient mythological stories from numerous sources including Roman, Hebrew, and Mesopotamian. Lilith is associated with quite a few different demons.
