Worry Will Not Help

Even though you do everything right, something might still go wrong.

Nature, and fate will determine how well the pregnancy and the birth will happen, and if something is meant to go wrong, then it will. Even though you follow the instructions your doctor set for you, and even though you did every single thing every one of the books told you to do, those things are only meant to be precautions, and sometimes fate cannot be prevented. You have to take all the necessary precautions, and keep yourself as healthy and positive as possible, and leave the rest up to fate, and nature, and God, if you so choose.

But there are some things that you can control.

One of the most important things that depend solely upon you is your stress level. Worrying endlessly about everything that could happen is a very good way to ensure that something does happen. At the end of every day, instead of lying in bed and thinking about all the possibilities of things that could go wrong, plan instead for all the things that could go right. Rest, calm, and a positive attitude are the best precautions that you can take.

Another aspect of your pregnancy that is up to you is your basic health, and the health of your baby. Making sure that you are eating right, and avoiding harmful things such as alcohol and tobacco, or drugs, will go a long way toward ensuring a safe and healthy pregnancy and delivery. Attending your scheduled prenatal appointments, and discussing your concerns with your doctor, will also aid in a successful birth.

Any significant health issues that come up should be dealt with immediately. There are so many new medications and treatments, that not every illness needs to be major cause for worry. And worry is what just might do you and the baby the most harm.

Approach every day not with the thought that something could go wrong, but with the thought that everything is as it should be, and you are one day closer to holding your precious tiny dream in your arms.
